meaningful freedomself-reflection

Without a boss – a (/my) meaningful freedom

Do you have any idea what it feels like to be able to work freely and in a self-organized way while also being in a deeply felt connection? In a group of consultants in which mere eye contact is often enough to feel understood? That’s what I call meaningful freedom. And I found this new form of freedom at Como Consult, a kind of hybrid between a consulting organization and a network. I have been part of this hybrid since the beginning of 2023. I completely determine the structure of my working day myself. I can focus on my tasks and implement my consulting assignments very effectively. And all this – so far – with a low to moderate level of stress. Despite all the autonomy, this way of working is based on a strong sense of connection with the other consultants at Como Consult. We share common values, we support and coach each other, and we value each other as mirrors and sources of friction.

I have been working in international cooperation for over 13 years. Working with people from different countries and cultures has always fascinated me. I have always been passionate about approaches that strengthen food security and reduce maternal and child mortality, as well as promoting gender equality. When I joined Como Consult, nothing changed in this regard. Rather, my thinking changed. Through my training as an organizational consultant at Como, I learned to unlearn, relearn and learn anew. I learned to embrace change – especially in myself. What I particularly like about Como Consult is that all perspectives on life, on organizations, on transformation are welcome and valuable here. I feel very fortunate. After all, in the end we only recognize what we already know, don’t we?

Whether I have really arrived today after the first few months, I can’t say exactly. It feels more like I’ve always been at Como Consult GmbH.
