Marija Kao is a graduate economist and systemic organizational consultant with many years of experience in the field of diversity and inclusion.

She has many years of work experience in the Western Balkans, including in the field of social security and working with socially disadvantaged population groups. She has been working in international cooperation for 12 years, advising on sustainable economic development, good governance, gender equality and the social rights of vulnerable groups. She has coordinated and provided technical support for several international and national strategy processes for GIZ and BMZ on the topic of gender. She worked for a German non-governmental organization and was responsible for the substantive project support (planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation) and controlling of project finances in the area of public funds and foundations.
